Back to School Easy Meal Ideas

Chef Taylor will be joining us in Black Forest Saturday 9am-1pm to share some healthy and easy recipes for weeknight meals, snacks, and kids lunches all from items you can shop from our local farmers and food vendors.  

Chef Taylor Langman is a classically French trained Chef who studied at Auguste Escoffier's School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, Colorado where he specialized in cooking farm-to-table.  He has worked in the culinary industry for over nine years in all aspects of dining to include fine dining, fast-casual, catering, weddings, and special events all along the Front Range.  Taylor has a passion for cooking from scratch, even from a young age. He is a true believer and supporter of utilizing local produce and food items whenever possible.  

Here are the recipes he will be cooking up for us and answering any questions you may have!

Market Patty Melt

Ingredients:

  • 1lb Ground Beef

  • 1 Onion (yellow or white)

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Stone Ground Mustard (small as you can get 4oz-2oz)

  • Sourdough bread

  • Arugula Microgreens

  • Shaved Raddish or White Turnip

Steak Arroser

Ingredients:

  • NY Strip Steak

  • 1 Small bunch each of Fresh Rosemary, Flatleaf Italian Parsley, Thyme

  • Onion (yellow/white/or red)

  • Salted Butter

Fruit Salad with Honey Mint Glaze

Ingredients:

  • Watermelon

  • Apples 4-5 (red and green) 

  • 2 Pears 

  • Cantaloupe

  • 2 lemons

  • 4-8 oz Honey

  • 1 bunch of Mint 

  • 1 bunch of Basil

German Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 doz. Eggs

  • QT of milk

  • Salted Butter

  • Apples 2-3 (Red or Green)

  • Brown Sugar

  • Plain Greek Yogurt (4-8oz)

  • Cinnamon

  • 1 jar Caramel Sauce

Garlic & Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots 

Ingredients:

  • Carrots - one bunch

  • Brown sugar

  • Butter

  • Garlic
